Made by hand, meant to be lived with
Paintings, ink drawings and ceramics from Quo Forma — the pieces that turn a beautiful form into a personal one.
Some are made for our own interiors. Others are commissioned by collectors, hotels and homeowners who want something no one else has. All of them begin in the same place: at the studio table, with paper, pigment and clay.
Art is not the finishing touch. It is often where the form begins — a colour, a line or a vessel that everything else is arranged around.
Vessels with a face
Our ceramics are shaped and glazed by hand in small batches, forming sculptural face vessels, masks, vases and bowls with a quiet, human presence.
Each face is modelled individually: eyes closed in thought, a tear of glaze, an ear for a handle. Finishes are developed in the studio to sit alongside our interior palettes, including warm stoneware, celadon greens, chalky whites and blush reds. No two pieces are identical, and that is entirely the point.
Chosen for character
We work mainly in stoneware, selected for its strength, warmth and the way it takes a glaze.
Shaped by hand
Each piece is formed and its face modelled by hand, keeping the gentle irregularities that give it life.
Glazed and kiln-fired
Layered glazes are fired to high temperature for pieces that are beautiful, durable and made for daily use.
Bold colour, quiet forms
Our paintings are graphic and confident with a strong line, generous colour, a little wit and designed to hold their own in calm, natural interiors.
Each canvas is painted in the studio, often in response to a specific wall, view or palette. We work at every scale, from intimate studies to statement pieces for lobbies and dining rooms.
Original works
Available paintings and framed drawings, released in small collections throughout the year.
Commissions
A piece made for a particular form, conceived alongside its colours, light and proportions.
Art for interiors
Complete art programmes for homes, offices and hospitality — selected, framed and hung.
Murals
Large-scale wall paintings that become part of the architecture itself.
The sketchbook
Pen-and-ink studies of arches, windows, shelves and forms. Many become the seed of an interior; others are framed as works in their own right.
One table, many disciplines
At Quo Forma, the person drawing your floor plan may also be glazing the bowls for your kitchen shelf.
That crossover is our greatest strength. An architect’s sense of proportion shapes our pottery; an artist’s eye for colour shapes our forms. The studio is open by appointment for collectors, clients and anyone curious to see work in progress.
